How the character remembers
The character follows the conversation. Continue a thought or refer back to something you said a minute ago, without repeating yourself. This works for everyone, including during the trial.
Over time, for people who keep chatting and top up their balance, it gradually remembers what matters about you: your name, your job, your plans. That way, you never have to introduce yourself all over again.
What it looks like
On Monday, you mention an important interview on Friday, and that your dog is called Biscuit. Write on Wednesday, and the character asks how your prep is going and remembers Biscuit by name. Changed jobs or moved? Just say so.
Each character has its own memory. Samantha doesn't know what you talked about with the male character, and vice versa.
Why memory matters
Without memory, every conversation starts from scratch: who you are, what you do, what's going on. With it, it feels like talking to someone who knows you. Write "So, should I?" and the character knows what you mean.
Nothing to set up
Just talk, and share as much as you like. The character picks out what matters on its own.
Erasing memory
- A character's history and memory are erased with a single /clear command (you'll be asked to confirm).
- After 90 days without messages, history and memory are deleted automatically.
